Settling in ... sorta

OK, I made it.

I am in Salem, Va., with mom and elbowing my way into her 2 br apartment between the remains of my sister's part-time residency here and dad's office with all it's boxes and contractor's books, blueprints and unopened mail.

Today's goal is to just get my stuff put in a dresser and the medicine cabinet.

The move was like most, I guess: inefficient and chaotic. That's what you get when planned by someone w/ ADD tendencies operating on little sleep.

I started the moving day at a little before 8 a.m. Saturday and pulled into mom's at 1:20 a.m. Sunday. Was back up to meet the kind folk at the storage unit at 9 -- the young lady came in on her day off, bless her heart. Then unloaded my stuff at 1 and got roped into using the moving van to get my sister's entertainment center, w/d and bed over to her new duplex.

Today I am just now feeling almost normal at 3 p.m.

Urg.

Thanks to all the great folks who helped me move: Aaron, Blaire, Joe Jerry, Michael, Evan and a special thanks to Cheryl for her help above and beyond the call of duty.

I miss my lovely, faithful kitty Hannah very, very much and am grateful to Cheryl's mom for taking over her care and feeding.
