OK, let's review ...
My brother went to the doc today and he has shingles. He's in a lot of pain and discomfort now and is hopeful that the medication will fix that. He also is having a urinary issue that is going to be scrutinized in a couple days. And his doctor has ordered a brain scan -- he has reported some momentary disorientation over the past few weeks and they are gonna look into that. He has a history of heart problems and so this is not good news. Not anything life-threatening yet, but not good just the same.
I have 21 days to file the estate audit of my dad's belongings. The trick here will be to separate what's "his" from what belongs to the company/fellow w/ whom he partnered to do the last couple years' worth of work. It'll be a like getting the sugar back out of the coffee once you've stirred it up. Oh, and there's a rent-to-own situation on a piece of property he owns and mostly what I see are a series of summonses trying to get the tenant to get current on his rent. Also, he had made loans to a couple people that appear to total more than $20K ... and I doubt they will ever be able to square that up.
Mom is doing OK. Has had less to eat the past couple days than I'd like, but her weight has not been affected. I'm watching the nutrition however. She's felt pretty good and has helped my sister some over the weekend and that has seemed to be fun for her. We went to Unity for services Sunday and she wasn't too enlightened. She said there was not the same spark she remembered. I felt like I was at a sales rally more than a church service and that there was more glitz than substance and I think she was feeling somewhat the same way. Not to denigrate the good folks and good works there, it just wasn't my cup of spiritual tea.
She's getting a perm Wednesday to get set for the wedding and a mammogram the week after the nuptials. Her health is overall good, she's in good spirits and she's got lots of energy and has no complaints of aches or pains. Beyond her children, of course. ;)
The memory is still the same -- some confusion about events mostly recent. But we are now getting the paper and she is reading that pretty thoroughly each day and keeps busy with little laundry and cleaning tasks. I have to watch her in the kitchen pretty closely both cooking and cleaning-wise. Random containers of water get put in the freezer for no apparent reason and new plastic containers get plastic wrap over the top instead of the blue lids that go w/ them. That sort of thing.
Now to Flickr. I have totally fallen off the 365 wagon. That's a self-portrait-a-day group I'm in. I had several that I snapped late at night last week and something has happened and they are locked up in my computer and I can't access them. It is as if they are cursed or something. I can't access them or move them or kill them. So I have lost about a week's worth of 'em and have missed a few days too.
Also I am a little overwhelmed w/ the new camera and have taken a lot of shots, but not processed much. And I have a project that I desperately need to finish but can't seem to get to.
Grrrr......
Calgon, take me away.
