A dispatch from New Orleans

My Librarian friend went to a conference in New Orleans and did some volunteer work while there. The place needs a lot of help, hope, health and hands. Here is part of her report and links to pix and the org. she volunteered for.

Hi,
...The New Orleans trip has made quite an impact on
me, so I wanted to share it with you and this seemed
the best mode to do so. Any grief that I had over the recent burglary has been
graciously resolved. While attending the ALA conference
I spent several days doing volunteer work around the
city. One day I worked with Common Ground gutting
houses in the infamous Lower Ninth Ward. I won't say
too much, as a picture is worth a thousand words.
There are 2 links below one for Common Ground and one
is a series of pictures of one of the neighborhoods
and crew of librarians I worked with. My heart aches
for the people who are struggling to rebuild.
